Shuinota House

Shuinota house, our third house was purchased in 1992.  One of our core members, Eddie, had dreamed for years of a third house, so we called it Shuinota, Native American for “Dream Song.” Shuinota House is also a large older home located in a quiet residential section of Capitol Hill in Seattle.  Like Angeline House, it is an Adult Family Home with Group Home Contracts.  Shuinota House is home to five people with a developmental disability and three live in care givers.

The home has two and one half stories, plus a full basement. It has a half-bathroom. The first floor has a dining room, living room, kitchen, bathroom (with shower), storage area, small eating nook in the kitchen, and an office. The second floor has two full bathrooms and five bedrooms. The third floor has three bedrooms.  The basement is used for the candle making workshop, for storage, furnace, and laundry facilities.

The home has a wheel chair ramp for access and a fire escape for egress.
