The Activity Center

The L’Arche Seattle Activity Center was founded in 1985 to provide creative, meaningful and enriching vocational engagement for members of our community who have limited funding.

What We Do

Members of the Activity Center find meaningful work by volunteering in the wider Seattle community and contributing to the L’Arche community by assisting with errands.

Our members express their creativity by making candles, painting, creating fiber arts, and making welcome signs and celebration posters to share with the community and the world!

About Our Candles

Every one of our beautiful candles is handmade in the Activity Center by members of our community. Community members work together as a team in their creation, each offering their own unique skills.

Our candles are made out of recycled wax donated to us by churches and friends of L’Arche. Most are sold at craft fairs or bazaars, but we also sell them directly from our workshop so please come visit us!

We even take special orders for any occasion… Shop Today!

Our Values

At L’Arche we respect the biblical roots of the value of work. We see that work affirms the dignity of the person and fulfills the human need for vocational expression.
